From Sabre Springs Foursquare Church to His Dwelling Place Ministries.
Always a small, intimate Church
As a small church of under one hundred people for fifteen years, Sabre Springs Foursquare Church was always a very relational church with members getting to know one another well - sharing their struggles and triumphs with the church body. Family ties form quickly when a small group of believers is traveling in the same direction toward the Lord.
With hearts to learn and teach, Pastors Chris and Wayne Clarke attended some in-depth studies given by Pastor Henry W. Wright of Pleasant Valley Church in Thomaston, Georgia as well as similar studies given by Art Mathias of Wellspring Ministries in Alaska. Excited by the truth and power imparted in those studies, Pastors Wayne and Chris Clarke began offering similar in-depth classes dealing with the spiritual roots of disease, and training the church body in the strategy and tactics of spiritual warfare. They sensed an urgency about teaching God's people to learn for the first time or in some cases, rediscover, how to destroy Satan's lies with God's truth and walk in victory and freedom all the time.
Physical, spiritual and emotional healing for God's people
Church members invited family and friends to these bible studies and people's lives were transformed from the bondage of sin (i.e. bitterness, unforgiveness, jealousy and envy) to a life of freedom based on Christian principles. Some were healed of physical conditions as spiritual roots of disease were identified and dealt with. Some were healed of emotional problems that have hindered them all of their lives. Most felt the importance of learning more and in turn, teaching others how to minister healing to the body of Jesus Christ.
In classroom bible studies, blended with on-the-spot ministry in the safe environment of nurturing small groups, believers were delivered of life-long fears and the lies of the enemy that had plagued them even after becoming a Christian. Classes grew and people were asking for more training and personal ministry to help them overcome more obstacles and enforce their healing by knowing how to battle the enemy of their soul using scriptural principles.
Church done differently
Deeply rooted in God's word and hearing from the Holy Spirit, Pastors Wayne and Chris Clarke, along with the elders discerned a calling to 'bind up the wounds of God's people' and empower them to walk in the victory of the finished work of Jesus Christ. The leadership of Sabre Springs Four Square Church sensed that they were uniquely equipped to offer a teaching ministry and that this was the way to advance God's kingdom on earth; restoring the church to be 'the salt and light' to the world. They came to the conclusion that the traditional church model didn't fit the new work God was doing in their midst.
Victorious lives for all of God's people - the Church
Encouraged by church members and confirmed by prophetical words spoken over them, Pastors Chris and Wayne Clarke pursued this new 'model' of ministry. They settled on an outreach type of two-day seminar to teach about the spiritual roots of disease called "Christian Principles to Freedom" along with a follow up, in-depth bible studies called "God's War College".
Convinced by the signs of the times, Pastors Chris and Wayne Clarke are trusting the Lord to lead them in forming a Gideon-type of army to represent Jesus Christ here on earth. The goal? To get Christians freed up from the bondage of past wounds, distorted thinking and all that keeps them from growing and abiding in the power of Jesus Christ. Christians have been tasked with 'the great commission' and cannot accomplish it if we are hobbling along, wounded, depressed and in ill health. God's love, scripture and healing power conquers the worldly influences that seek to suppress the Church. The time is now for all Christians to walk in freedom and victory.
